What are clear aligners?

Similar to metal braces that most of us are familiar with, clear aligners use a gradual force to control tooth movement and help straighten your teeth. These aligners are made with a hard and strong plastic material custom fit to the individual's mouth. As your teeth progress, you get different clear braces to help you along on your journey.

Do I wear clear braces all day?

In order to get the maximum benefit from your clear aligners, it is recommended that you wear them for at least 20 hours each and every day. Each aligner is worn for at least 3 weeks before moving onto the next and the total duration will depend on the severity of the individual's mouth and what their goals are. Typically, treatment lasts anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Are Clear Braces Safe for my teeth?

Short answer? Yes! Since it is recommended that you wear clear aligners for a minimum of 20 hours per day, they are made out of a bonding agent that does not damage the tooth enamel. Another advantage of clear braces compared to traditional metal braces is that they cover your entire tooth and won’t leave any stains on your teeth. Plus they are practically invisible, so it will be hard to even notice that you are wearing any to begin with!

What is the process?

During your consultation, it will be determined if you are a good fit for clear braces or not. If you are a good candidate, the next step will be to take a 3D model of your mouth. From there, the model will be loaded into a digital program that will help gradually move your teeth into the desired positions over the course of time. Once the doctor approves of these, the actual clear braces will be created and designed just for you!
